Sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye. Especially when a Rosso Corsa Ferrari 550 Maranello with manual gearbox (!) is leaving the garage. The good thing about our job, however, is that there’s always a chance on a comeback. So the bright red Maranello did. We can’t hide the smile on our faces ever since. Why should we? The Ferrari 550 is born to be a classic. This one is also perfectly dealer maintained and comes with several original Ferrari accessories. Nice.
History
The history of this stunning beautiful Prancing Horse is incredibly detailed. The 1996 550 Maranello was brand new when it left the Ferrari Dealer in Barcelona. In 2015 we discovered a unique car collection in Spain. This Rosso Corsa 550 was also included and had never left its first owner. But in the hands of Prins, the Ferrari was offered for sale again. After some major technical service, a Belgian fan fell in love. From 2015 to 2020, Ferrari Maserati Antwerp (FMA) looked after the 550 Maranello. Invoices are included. But also the former owner himself handled the classic supercar with all the care of the world. The interior even got an upgrade!
Exterior
The shape of the Ferrari 550 Maranello is one of a kind: clean and timeless. While famous designer Pininfarina deliberately kept the basic contours as pure as possible, the stretched 2-seater has plenty of exciting details. The Ferrari 550 is a gorgeous and powerful GT with some supercar similarities. The car literally pulls a long nose to many modern sports cars thanks to its fine looks and exciting finesses. More than 26 years after its introduction, we know for sure: the Maranello is a genuine masterpiece! Our 550 features traditional Ferrari colors: this means a Rosso Corsa exterior and an interior that is a classic of its own…
Interior
Nero would be more obvious, but the Beige leather upholstery inside is as pretty as Monica Bellucci in a red dress. The upgrade that was given extends the beauty of our Ferrari in style: it got a leather-covered luggage deck with diamond stitch finish. The black A-pillars and Nero top of the leather dashboard provide a wonderful contrast. Also striking inside the Italian grand tourer are the aluminum parts in the center tunnel, consisting artistic milled gear patterns plus a round gear shift. Perforated sports pedals and analogue instruments surrounded by chrome are characteristic for Ferrari’s in the 1990s. On top of this all the 550 Maranello has a Beige leather headliner. This is what perfection looks like!
Technique & performance
The powertrain is just as masterful: under the long hood lies a gem called Ferrari V12, producing 485 prancing horses. Turbos? No thanks. This 12-cylinder is pure nature. To generate that much power, 5.5 liters of engine capacity is required. Now you know what the model name is based on… The 550 can still keep up with today’s sprinters: accelerating from 0-100 km/h only takes 4.3 seconds and the top speed of 323 km/h is almost faster than te light. What about the overall driving experience? Only a modern version of the Ferrari 550 Maranello could match to that. So yes, you’re looking at a great investment here!
Kind regards,
Prins Classics.
