Laat u deze Italiaanse schone aan u voorbijgaan, dan kan het maar zo zijn dat de volgende kans circa 20 jaar op zich laat wachten. Dat is namelijk hoelang de voormalig eigenaar in het bezit was van de Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Bertone! De enige terechte vraag die we daarbij kunnen stellen is waarom hij er niet nog een paar jaren extra aan heeft vastgeplakt, zó mooi vinden we de klassieke Alfa 2000 GTV… Optisch en technisch is de coupé meer dan oké dankzij regelmatig en goed onderhoud. Nóg zo’n reden om de Gran Turismo Velocesnel te komen bewonderen bij Prins. Voordat een andere liefhebber u voor is… Hier intern kennen we er trouwens wel een paar!

Also the technique of the coupe is more than fine thanks to regular and solid maintenance: another reason to come visit Holland and admire the Gran Turismo Veloce at Prins… Adding the Italian classic to your wish list already? You might have some strong competition from our colleagues!

History
In 1971, Alfa Romeo introduced the ultimate version of the very successful 105/115 Coupe series. Its name: 2000 GT Veloce. With its powerful 2.0 liter engine and new grille, the Alfa 2000 GTV was something else compared to the other versions. This specific car left the factory a year after the model introduction and ended up in the hands of a Dutchowner in December 2003. The Gran Turismo Veloce has been perfectly cared for over the past 2 decades: the engine was overhauled around 2007 and the bottom still looks prettyimmaculate too. Garage Homan really knew how to treat the inner beauty of Bertone’s 60/70s masterpiece.

Exterior
The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Coupe was designed under the leadership of Giorgetto Giugiaro. The robust, timeless and sturdy bodywork made him and Bertone world famous. This2000 GTV has double headlights “lent” from the 1750 GT Veloce plus a unique grille including many horizontal chrome bars, connecting the Alfa Romeo Scudetto with the round light units on either side. During the next years, the GT 1300 and 1600 Junior copied this new grille. In bright red Rosso Alfaand without the chrome bumpers the sporty DNA of ourclassic is even more powerful than it usually is. If one car can impress with no bumpers, It’s the Alfa GTV 2000 Bertone!

Interior
The “less is more” philosophy also applies to the beautiful interior of the AR Gran Turismo Veloce 2000. Black dominates on the seats, door trim and the minimalistic + sleek dashboard with wooden inlay. More wood can be found in the center/tunnel console and on the large 3-spoke steering wheel. Typical Alfa are of course the separate gauges in round tubes behind them. A time-correct Grundig radio is integrated directly next to it. The gear shift underneath is placed relatively high, so you can switch between the steering en shifting pretty fast. After all, you want to handle the manual 5-speed gearbox all day long, it’s that good. The chrome ashtray, ditto window cranks and characteristic toggle switches in the center tunnel fuel the nostalgic feelings like gasoline in a Twin Spark engine.

Technique & performance
Of course, the engine capacity of the Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Bertone speaks for itself. It’s the largest 4-cylinder Twin Spark that the Italians installed in their iconic coupe. The 2.0 liter power unit has an output of 132 PS and sends all horses to the rear wheels, which benefits the spectacular driving experience. A driving experience that matches the stunning looks of the 2000 GT Veloce in a way only Alfa Romeo is capable of.
