However, the specialists at APP Racing Engines did see room for extra technical “Evoluzione” in case of this beautiful, fully restored Evo II. You can read further, or ask for the original booklets + service invoices that are included. Meanwhile, the Martini racing interior and pristine white bodywork provide an extra nostalgic boost in the Delta HF Integrale Evo II. Literally, thanks to a standard turbo pressure that already produces 400 PS!
History
No car has a track record like the Lancia Delta HF. It dominated Group A in the late 80s / early 90s and is inextricably linked to title sponsor Martini, who never disappointed with liveries being as spectacular as they were stylish. Yet the characteristic hatchback owes its iconic status mainly to its successes in terms of performance. Our street-legal version is directly based on that performance. In fact, it was further improved for the occasion! And it already concerned the stronger Evoluzione II, with a 16V turbo engine… In 2019, the Italian classic ended up in the hands of its former owner. He spent more than a year having the HF Integrale Evo II completely restored in the garage of Dutch bodywork specialists UK-Resto, while the engine rebuild + upgrade was done by APP Racing Engines. Furthermore, the help of various other specialists was called in to obtain the right parts. Chassis, sheet metal, roof, suspension, drivetrain, brakes, ignition, electrical circuit; literally everything was overhauled, replaced or strengthened. Special attention was paid to the engine, including an upgrade to 400 PS. Gearbox, clutch and pressure plate were adapted to handle the new superpowers of the “Mod Restored” Delta. Original documentation and maintenance history are available.
Exterior
It’s clear that our HF Integrale 16V Evoluzione II Restomod also looks like a winner. No one dared to modify the stunning appearance though. Fortunately, because the rally legend is at its best when it’s pure, especially in pristine white. The iconic Martini livery is missing, but for those who are interested, a blank background is of course the most ideal starting point. Besides, at some point it’s compensated on the inside… Before we get to that: please draw your attention to the wonderful body kit including fender flares, upright roof spoiler and extra air-ducts. Furthermore, the double round headlights, red grille edge and Speedline wheels symbolize pure nostalgia. The front and rear mud flaps don’t attempt to disguise the uncompromising rally roots. That’s exactly the reason why this Lancia gets some many thumbs up along the way!
Interior
Inside the Delta HF Integrale Evo II, the light brown Recaro sports seats give the 5-door hatchback a tasteful touch. After all, it still is a real Italian! To provide the headliner, door panels and floor with the same color, also matches the tradition of making even the most hardcore racing car incredibly stylish. Parts of the seats and doors are perforated for extra oxygen after a thrilling ride or rally adventure. The angular instrument panel contains Giallo inscriptions to underline the performance of this Italian thoroughbred. The leather Martini Racing sports steering wheel from Momo speaks for itself, although the creators couldn’t resist adding the original colors of the classic cocktail manufacturer…
Technique & performance
Are you ordering Martinis based on the world-famous “shaken, not stirred” recipe? Our Integrale Evoluzione II has to ignore that wish, as an upgrade from 215 to 400 (!) PS shakes thing up like no other! The immense torque of 470 Nm at 4,000 rpm is also achieved with a (new) standard turbo pressure. In addition, the clutch and pressure plate have been adjusted too to handle the extra forces of the engine. At the same time, the reliability of the 2.0 liter 16-valve 4-cylinder was improved and the gearbox got a reinforced housing including stronger shaft + gears. But there’s even more on a technical level: the complete car was taken apart in order to access the weaker parts of the chassis + the beams that have been replaced or restored. All suspension parts also got overhauled or replaced, just like the drivetrain, brakes, ignition, electrical circuit, etc. No wonder an earlier test on Spanish and Italian ground was passed with flying colors! Who’s ready to meet this classic rally miracle for the very first time?
Kind regards,
team Prins.
