Reviews

Exclusive offer! You’re looking at the most powerful pre-facelift Ferrari Mondial, but that’s not the most important reason for you wanting this classic. Our beautiful macchina from la bella Italia has just enough patina to make your heartbeat crazy. It’s true: this Mondial 3.2 is completely original and has had only 2 owners! The last one treated himself to a gorgeous Ferrari 360 from the Prins collection, resulting in us having a stunning Mondial 3.2 for in exchange. An excellent deal for everyone. Including you, because the original books, documents, and even the spare wheel plus repair kit are all present. So why wait making your classic Ferrari dream come true?

History
Considering the modest mileage, you would say that the Mondial 3.2 is more like art than a genuine driver’s car. Wrong. The extra strong V8 is proven to be reliable and also the most balanced version in terms of weight ratio. The history of this Ferrari lies in Sardinia, where the former owner bought the car directly from the very first possessor. Since 2019, the fiery red Italian has driven (a little) on the mainland of the Netherlands. However, the low mileage didn’t stop our team from making the classic even better: we completely blasted the bottom with dry ice and thoroughly detailed the car inside and outside to give the Ferrari back its original shine from the early years in Sardinia.

Exterior
It’s really special that the greatest part of the Rosso Corsa bodywork still has the 1st layer of paint. Only the bottom of the right door, the frunk and the roof have been repainted red. The roof is known for discoloring faster, for sure on a sunny island like Sardinia. So it couldn’t hurt topping it with an extra dose of Rosso sauce after a while. The overall condition of the exterior is very neat and includes a healthy dose of patina here and there. Healthy is also the creative brain of its design master: Pininfarina. The famous Italian designer worked together with Carrozzeria Scaglietti to create a styling that is absolutely unique. They mixed the characteristics of a mid-engine sports car with a practical 4-seater GT. In 1980 the Mondial succeeded the Dino 308/208 GT4. About 13 years later, the last Ferrari V8 model with a Mondial configuration ever was built, making the car even more special. Also note the angular lines and extraordinary details such as the Testarossa lookalike air intakes behind the doors. Truly an iconic sports coupe!

Interior
The color combination of this Ferrari Mondial 3.2 is at least as classic as the model itself. Because behind the Rosso Corsa bodywork hides a Beige leather interior. How classy! It’s all over the seats, door panels, center tunnel and lower part of the dashboard. The combination with the black finished top of the doors + upper part of the dashboard is also super stylish. The A-pillars and leather steering wheel are Nero too. The Blaupunkt radio/cassette player fits in the Mondial era. So are the many switches in the wide tunnel console and of course the traditional milled gear slots having the classic aluminum wings in H-pattern. We guess you will be happy to share the joy with all 3 passengers…?

Technique & performance
Beautiful Veglia Borletti instruments show what happens after sending 270 prancing horses to the rear axle as soon as the right pedal approaches the light brown carpet. The 3.2 liter 8-cylinder is perfectly positioned for the perfect balance. Compared to the 2.9 liter Ferrari V8 from the Mondial Quattrovalvole (QV), the 3.2 gained no less than 30 hp too. This classic requires some hard work to perform like a proper Ferrari. But in return you get a mesmerizing sound and a real sports car experience. Would owner number 3 of this 38-year-old gem please stand up?

Kind regards,
team Prins.
