Beware, Alfisti! We have something special for you: an unrestored 1968 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Ti! Do you think that restored classic cars all look the same and are you looking for one that really tells its complete (hi)story? Then you should definitely give this Alfa Giulia some credits… The Italian legend has been in the Netherlands since 2017 and comes straight from a private car collector. He and is predecessors all felt the same about the Giulia: what you see is what you get. However, the question is: when are you going to get this beautiful and pure 1300 Ti? Imagine you could add it to your own collection… Now that the opportunity is here, you don’t want to let it slip away!

History
In 1966, just 4 years after unveiling the Giulia, Alfa Romeo introduces the Giulia 1300 Turismo Internazionale: an extra sporty version based on the Alfa GT 1300 Junior Coupe. The upgrade is mainly focused on the technique: the 4-cylinder in-line engine is a 105 series based version with much more temperament, and linked to a manual 5-speed gearbox for a better performance. The characteristic 4-door “Berlina” version of Alfa Romeo has become an icon, and the dynamic 1300 Ti plays an important role in it. This specific classic left the factory back in 1968 and moved to the Netherlands in 2017. History tells us that the Alfa has never been restored. Not even by your predecessor: a genuine car collector. He thought it would make the classic even more unique. Well, he was right. After all, what 55-year-old car tells the whole story and is still in good condition, without any major modifications?

Exterior
The burgundy red lacquer on our 4-door Alfa Romeo classic is surprisingly attractive. It’s more elegant than Rosso Alfa and more outspoken than dark blue. Overall, the condition is quite surprising too: bodywork and paint show no traces of negligence at all. This car has clearly been handled with care! We’re truly grateful that the former owners honored the Berlina’s timeless styling. Aerodynamically, the Giulia 1300 Ti is completely "in shape" as well: with its so-called "Kamm-Tail", the Alfa is even more efficient than the Porsche 911 from the 60s. Considering the fact that the 4-door sport sedan is best known for its square exterior design! It’s impossible to expect more character from a classic…

Interior
We’d like to get straight to the point here: the interior reveals the great history of our Alfa Romeo Giulia. No matter how well the cockpit is put together and how gorgeous the 3-spoke Bakelite steering wheel (exclusive for the Ti version) looks, it’s inevitable that you will discover some wear here and there. Is that bad? Not if you like original and pure. Because that’s what the Giulia 1300 Turismo Internazionale is all about! What’s also striking is the clean design of the black instrument panel with 2 large meters and a smaller one, indicating the amount of "benzina". The wooden finish feels luxurious and the Giulia 1300 Ti inscription on the dashboard actually makes it even more desirable. No one should miss what kind of Alfa Romeo he or she is dealing with! The inside is mainly covered in black and anthracite, making the light gray seats standing out incredibly nice. Besides, it’s not an obvious choice in combination with a dark red bodywork. Isn’t that exactly what Alfisti love?

Technique & performance
As elegant as the Giulia 1300 Ti looks, the technique is 100% uncompromising. While other 1300 models were powered by the limited “101” engines, the Turismo Internazionale is closer to Alfa’s racing history thanks to the 4-cylinder in-line engine from the 105 edition. Pushed by a different camshaft timing and ditto induction system, this Romeo manages to squeeze a total of 82 horses out of the 1,290 cc Ti unit and reaches a top speed of 190 km/h. Even better is how the Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Ti responds to the throttle: just as hungry as 55 years ago. You don’t need an expensive restoration process for that!
