A splendid, absolutely unique Alfa classic arrived at Prins! The 75 1.8 Quadrifoglio Verde is the extra powerful Turbo-version. Our car has a number of highly desirable options as well, including electric windows, an electric sunroof and a MOMO racing steering wheel. The Alfa was newly delivered in Italy, came to the Netherlands back in 2007 and is perfectly maintained by Alfa Romeo specialist Homan. In 2009, the turbo engine is overhauled when it came into the hands of the last owner. Until now. Beneath, the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo QV is still completely original. The overall condition is excellent and there are no traces of rust or whatsoever!
History
The Alfa Romeo 75 replaced the Giulietta in 1985 and was at first available with a 4-cylinder or V6 engine. Alfisti have had to wait for another year for a turbo-powered 75. However, the very special 1.8 Turbo Quadrifoglio Verde version made its debut in 1990. This specific one was delivered new in Rome. It would take 17 years before the Italian came to the Netherlands. According to the service history, the Alfa 75 Turbo has clearly been cherished throughout the past years. The former owner bought the QV in February 2009 after visiting THE Alfa Romeo 75 specialist: Alfa Nord in Grou. This has also been the year of the engine overhaul. During the following years, Homan took over the maintenance. The original, rust-free condition and sleek bottom with no tectyl emphasizes how well the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Quadrifoglio has been cared for all these years. Exterior
The Alfa Romeo 75 has a very characteristic design, recognized by its sharp bodywork and unique wedge shape. Also typical for the 75 are the black strips on the sides, running from the headlights all the way to the rear spoiler. Grille, side skirts and the lower parts of the bumpers are painted in body color. And since we’re talking about a the fiery Rosso Alfa lacquer here, we can appreciate that even more. The Quadrifoglio Verde badge on the front screens makes the genuine Alfisti hearts beat faster than fast. Especially in combination with the Turbo type designation. This is clearly an Alfa classic for the specialists!
Interior
Inside the straightforward interior, beautiful velvet upholstery makes the difference. Rosso stitching around the gear lever and a proper MOMO racing steering wheel emphasize the sporty DNA of the Alfa Romeo 75 1.8 Turbo QV. The open sunroof is special too, having the same dark finish as the rest of the roof lining. Other options are the electric windows and a Pioneer radio/CD player. Yet the most surprising are the numbers on the instruments: looking at the gorgeous condition of the Alfa 75 Quadrifoglio Verde, the mileage could’ve been a lot lower.
Technique & performance
However, the quality and technique have proven to be capable of many enjoyable miles. The 1.8 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine is really something else. The standard version already delivers 155 PS, but the QV found 10 PS extra. The 226 Newton meters of torque remained the same and is enough to achieve strong performances. Perhaps even more importantly is how much fun you get behind the wheel. Indeed, the 75 Turbo QV drives like a classic Alfa Romeo and therefore puts a good old smile on your face. Like no other…
