Covering fewer than 7,000 kilometers over a span of 24 years may seem like sheer madness on paper. But at the same time, it’s exactly what makes our Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible insanely beautiful. And it’s not just the mileage that’s unique! Of course, it plays a major role in the impeccable condition of our example. Only 374 units of the Corniche V were ever produced. But it’s not just the rarity that makes this one so special – its configuration and history are equally extraordinary. Delivered new in 2001, this silver British gem entered an exclusive collection and has remained registered to just **one** owner ever since. We can’t stress enough how exceptional that is. You’ll never find another 5th-series Corniche Convertible like this one again.
History
Originally delivered in Europe – France, to be precise – and in a condition as rare as its mileage. This Rolls-Royce excels in every area, which suits the model perfectly. The Corniche made its debut in 1971 as a coupé and convertible based on the Silver Shadow. The two-door derivative of the classic luxury sedan carried the highest price tag in the Rolls-Royce lineup at the time. In short: exclusivity defined. That’s why spotting one on the open road is rarer than rare – let alone in a configuration like this. The Corniche V – also known as the Corniche 2000 – is among the most limited of all generations, with only 374 built between 2000 and 2002. Ours was delivered by renowned Rolls-Royce dealer Jacques Savoye, and soon thereafter became part of a French collection. Does that name ring a bell? It might: Savoye was also famed in racing circles, celebrated for his **ten** entries at Le Mans between 1935 and 1955. Ultimately, this Corniche has had just **one** owner…
Exterior
Few cars have remained in production as long as the Rolls-Royce Corniche. Naturally, the British marque gave their flagship one of the most timeless designs ever conceived. Across generations, the changes were mostly subtle – except for the fifth and final series, dubbed the "2000". From then on, the characteristic headlights were grouped behind glass, and the signature kink behind the doors was smoothed out. The iconic side pinstripes now flowed in a nearly straight line from front to rear, uninterrupted. The taillights, too, were extensively redesigned for Series V. Meanwhile, the bumpers and trunk lid were reworked to give the model a more modern, distinct appearance. But parting with its unparalleled elegance and unmistakable British charm? Never! The Corniche wouldn’t see a spiritual successor until 2007, in the form of the Phantom Drophead Coupé – a beautiful machine, though far less of a *true* classy Rolls-Royce than the Corniche was… and still is. The soft-top in Blu couldn’t have been chosen more perfectly. The imposing, chrome Rolls-Royce grille completes the nostalgic allure. What a statement. What exclusivity. What timeless British beauty!
Interior
Skeptical about the ultra-low mileage? Take a seat in the grey leather armchairs and see for yourself: this classic is indistinguishable from new – right down to the blue carpets! The abundant burl walnut wood, dark blue leather steering wheel, and matching upper dashboard trim have all retained their originality and elegance. In fact, in 2025, it’s this very traditional character that’s increasingly appreciated by enthusiasts. Where else do you still find this level of craftsmanship, quality, finesse, and style? No modern Rolls-Royce – or any other exclusive car, for that matter – is assembled with as much passion as the ‘good old’ Corniche Convertible.
Engineering & Performance
The powertrain is just as classic and masterful as the rest of this Rolls-Royce: 325 silky-smooth horses are deployed to the rear wheels with near-imperceptible grace. Up front lies a jewel of an engine: a 6.75-liter V8 with barely any flight hours. This naturally aspirated masterpiece belongs in a museum – but only after you’ve experienced its 738 Nm of torque for yourself. The fully automatic transmission shifts effortlessly between four gears, and despite weighing 2,735 kg, the Corniche 2000 still accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds. Rolls-Royce quoted a top speed of 225 km/h, though we doubt the next owner will ever be tempted. After all, this car was made for the Riviera – where the road is for cruising, not racing.
Kind regards,
