The Porsche Cayenne comes close, very close to the pure sports car feeling. And the Cayenne Coupé? It is a sports car, even in terms of design. The only difference is the height of the body, with the bonus of more interior space. Because in terms of technology and performance, this very complete and beautifully equipped Cayenne 3.0 E-Hybrid Coupé is a car with pure Porsche DNA. This specimen was originally delivered in the Netherlands and comes with an impressive array of factory options. Including dark brown leather comfort seats, adaptive air suspension with PASM, LED headlights + PDLS, Sport Chrono, a panoramic roof, Park Assist front + rear including Surround View, soft-close doors, and much more. The powerful Plug-in Hybrid has a whopping 462 horsepower distributed over a total of 4 wheels and can still be driven entirely emission-free. Why settle for one world when you can have the best of multiple worlds?
Exterior:
Returning to the design of the Porsche Cayenne Coupé: in this specific case, it is quite enhanced. Literally, because the black metallic paint is in good company with a high-gloss black painted SportDesign package. The side skirts are also from SportDesign, and the 21-inch large RS SpyderDesign wheels clearly show where they drew their inspiration from. The sport exhaust tips are particularly fierce. The brutal exhaust tips stand on the corners of the diffuser and breathe pure performance. Typical for the Coupé are the spoiler in line with the steeply sloping roofline, and the space for the license plate that has moved to the rear bumper and is therefore further from the "smoked" taillight units. A design feature that seems to be appreciated, as we see it returning in the new series on the non-Coupé version… Speaking of which: the shape of LED headlights is the same as with any other Cayenne, but the PDLS technology is next level.
Interior:
Inside this sports car, you will find a wealth of luxury. For bucket or shell seats, you should go to the 911; the Cayenne E-Hybrid is much better suited for comfort seats with super chic dark brown leather upholstery. Unlike the iconic Elfer, our SUV-Coupé is mainly intended for more practical purposes. Hence the 2+1 configuration in the back. Especially for connoisseurs, Porsche has extended the dark brown hue to almost the entire interior: dashboard, steering wheel, center armrest, tunnel console, gear knob, doors, headliner, and even the floor is equipped with it. The combination with high-gloss black details and occasional aluminum framing for a touch of high-tech is also very tasteful. For maximum ambiance, you can also rely on the subtle light effects of Ambient Lighting. The more light, the better? Then, by all means, slide the electric sunshade back and be amazed by the spacious feeling created by the large glass panoramic roof.
Options & Extras:
The stopwatch on top of the leather dashboard is part of the Sport Chrono Pack and gives a glimpse of the true Porsche potential. However, the rest of the equipment is mainly focused on comfort: adaptive air suspension, seat heating, electric seat adjustment with memory function, rear comfort seats, soft-close doors, parking assistant front + rear including Surround View camera; it should make driving in a Cayenne Coupé more relaxed than ever. Technology & Performance:
Yet we cannot deny that the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupé doesn’t need any options to appeal to the heart of the sports car driver: in the front lies a gem of a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder, which, with the help of turbo power and PHEV technology, sends a whopping 462 horses to the front and rear axles. The V6 Plug-in Hybrid also turns out to be a true torque cannon with 700 Nm of pulling power. With this, the Porsche is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. The top speed of 253 km/h is slightly higher than that of many electronically regulated SUVs, Coupés, or SUV Coupés. There’s also little chance that they evoke the same sports car feeling.
