Prologue

Unieke uitvoering. Unieke historie. Unieke (concours)staat.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo I Rosso Monza

A unique specification. A unique history. A unique (concours) condition. This breathtakingly beautiful, completely original (!) and superbly maintained 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo I is truly one of a kind. So pure. So perfect. So extraordinary. Despite its dazzling condition, this motorsport legend looks as if it has just stepped off the rally stage—because it is in fact one of only 500 official homologation models. For the connoisseurs: this Rosso Monza Delta comes without a catalytic converter and with a water spray unit to provide additional cooling for the intercooler. Rally-bred or not, this legendary Lancia has almost certainly never touched gravel. How else could a 30+ year-old icon remain in such pristine shape?

History

Today, the Delta HF Integrale is praised for its character. But back in the day, this myth on wheels was first and foremost a winner. Lancia’s record of six consecutive manufacturers’ titles in the World Rally Championship remains unbeaten to this day. All were achieved with the Integrale and Integrale Evo I between 1987 and 1992. The successor, Evo II, never officially competed in the famous Group A WRC. What makes this particular example even more special is its provenance: originally delivered new in Italy as a High Fidelity Evoluzione, built at the end of 1991. First registered on January 31, 1992 by a Lancia dealer in Bolzano, it was sold in 1993 to its long-term owner. The car stayed within one Italian family—passed from father to son—until very recently. The original service book tells a story of meticulous care and loyal maintenance. In 2021, we had the pleasure of selling it to a valued client.

Exterior

Clearly, this family were true enthusiasts. The Delta Evo looks as though it has always been treated with velvet gloves. And that is impressive, knowing how tempting it must be to push this rally icon to its limits. The Rosso Monza paintwork has been redone only once in all these years. Everything else remains just as it left the factory—including the original glass, lighting units, and electrically operated sunroof. The angular body, wide wheel arches, lightweight 15-inch wheels, and dramatic roof spoiler are pure Integrale. And we absolutely love it.

Interior

This may be a racer at heart, but Lancia clearly had no intention of stripping away comfort. Inside, the Delta Evo distinguishes itself with superbly supportive sport seats, perforated aluminum pedals, and beautiful grey Alcantara upholstery on the seats, doors, and headliner. The craftsmanship is remarkable, and the overall condition leaves nothing to be desired. Motorsport DNA aside, this cockpit shows no signs of hard use—and we mean that in the best possible way.

Engineering & Performance

Those six world titles were certainly not won on looks alone. The Evo I’s legendary performance comes from its powerhouse: a 2.0-liter 16-valve turbocharged engine with 210 hp, powering all four wheels. Blisteringly quick yet impressively reliable—hence the designation HF: High Fidelity. In this example, the drivetrain excels in both strength and durability. Maintenance has been carried out with the same passion and precision as its visual preservation. Who will be the next to enjoy this icon at its very best?

With kind regards,
