We admit: the model name “Superfast” says more about this insanely beautiful and sensationally fast Ferrari 812 than the letters “GTS”. However, that’s immediately forgiven once you get to know this brilliantly semi-open two-seater. Because you’re looking at a unique 812 with a unique livery (Blu Pozzi exterior, Terra Bruciata leather on the inside!) and an incredible list of options valued at almost 70.000 euros. Name one carbon part and this supercar has it! Besides, with just 880 kilometers of driving experience, it’s brand new too. Such an exclusive and tasteful new ride and still no delivery time. Meantime, this “Super Esclusivo” does include a 3-year warranty and 7 years maintenance. Ever wondered if dreams could come true?
Exterior
We’ve seen a lot at Prins. But in our opinion, the Ferrari 812 GTS is one of the most beautiful cars that’s currently being offered new for sale. This one is like new, and it’s shown in every detail. The gorgeous, immaculate, exclusive Blu Pozzi lacquer may be an official Ferrari Historical Color, in 2020 it has more flair than ever. The 20-inch Sportstyle rims (with Grigio Silverstone calipers behind them) have a Diamond Cut finish; brilliantly chosen, because this 812 GTS is a true gem on wheels…
The contrast that’s given by the many carbon parts is just pure magic: side skirts, rear lower bumper, diffusor, front lip spoiler, inserts around the grille; all made of ultra-lightweight and extremely expensive carbon fiber. In fact, the Scuderia Ferrari Shields on the front screens are the only parts that weren’t given the carbon fiber factory option. Also extra are the black tailpipes, matching the dark carbon surroundings perfectly. Very cool.
Interior
Once stepped in, it soon becomes clear that the list of (carbon) options for the interior is at least as impressive. Okay, the door panels are the only parts that are not made of carbon, but instead you get them with a beautiful Nero Alcantara finish. You’ll also find the finish on the lower part of the dashboard and the mid lanes of the Daytona Style sports seats. The rest of the Ferrari cockpit is characterized by a unique, exceptionally tasteful Terra Bruciata / Nero leather combination. Plus, of course, a bizarre amount of carbon: dashboard inserts, steering wheel including LED Shift Indicator, the Shift Paddles themselves, Center Bridge tunnel console, door sills, the ring around the rev counter and even the door handles… All carbon! The stitched logos in the floor mats and headrests provide the ultimate finishing touch inside the ultimate Ferrari 812. Just wow.
Options & extras
Exactly the moment you think there’s no way the car could get any better than this, you’ll be fully amazed by another extremely long list of options. Some highlights: AFS (Advanced Front light System) + SBL, JBL Hi-Fi Audio, Apple CarPlay, Surround View and a Front Lift System to keep this incredibly piece of art also at low speeds as intact as possible. Because scratching it would be an absolutely nightmare. We would rather keep dreaming.
Technique & performance
Getting back to the beginning of this story: the fact that Ferrari exchanged the name “Superfast” for “GTS” doesn’t mean the open 812 has lost performance. Yes, accelerating from 0-100 km/h would cost a tenth of a second more on paper (3 seconds instead of 2.9). But hey, Ferrari had to justify their 75 kg weight increase somewhere. So whether you will actually notice the difference… There’s only one way to find out!
The top speed of 340 km/h remained unchanged and the GTS and Superfast are also extremely well-matched in terms of handling. But if we had to choose one, we would prefer to fly by “Superfast” with the roof open and stay connected to the sun. A tan is nice, for sure. However, maximizing the intense experience of the naturally aspirated, loud 6.5 liter Ferrari-V12 is even better. With 800 hp and 718 Nm on the rear wheels, you can expect a extraordinary speed sensation. But the non-turbo 12-cylinder 812 GTS is so much more than that. It’s unlike any road car. Like we said: it’s truly unique.
Kind regards,
