History
This is one of the very last Alfa Romeo Spiders from the 1st series. After all, its predecessor was named Duetto. Our Fastback or “Coda Tronca” version is also the most desirable one, with a straight back-end in combination with the original front. As if this isn’t tasty enough, Alfa Romeo gave its Spider a bright red Rosso Alfa bodywork. The lacquer on this specific car is exactly the same as 42 (!) years ago, when the Italian roadster left the factory. Yet our 2000 Veloce version doesn’t show that! Unbelievable how carefully the previous 2 owners have treated the beauty of the classic Spider. How it should be! Evidence of good behavior is also present, checking out the full service history. What more could a genuine Alfa fan ask for?

Exterior
Nice looks maybe? Sure: the Alfa Romeo Spider is more or less “el clasico” among the classics. The car is symbol to all the jaw-dropping esthetics the manufacturer has put on the roads. Especially in Rosso Alfa, the fiery temperament of the roadster comes into its own. Drop-shaped headlight units with covers and lacking (bumper) spoilers make the Spider Fastback purer than pure. The chrome details are completely time-correct, the silhouette itself is timeless. Furthermore, the black soft-top is in great shape, as is the rest of the exterior. The 2000 type designation is proudly displayed on the back. We didn’t know a red gem existed!

Interior
Behind the extraordinary elegant Alfa Spider Veloce design you’ll find an extremely tasteful cockpit. Inside, the Romeo among the Alfas once again proves to be a true style icon. Nero leather upholstery has a leading role in the mainly black interior, but the 3-spoke wooden steering wheel has also a prominent position. That’s how we like to see an unadulterated driver’s car! Traditionally, the gear shift is relatively placed high in the center console, specially for those who like fast gear changes. A solid headlining and black floor covering with large red Alfa logos let the pure Alfa feeling sparkle from top to bottom. To top it off, a Philips PLL Quartz Tuning 550 radio is integrated in the dashboard. What do you mean, nostalgia?

Technique & performance
The Italians were quite proud of their 4-cylinder Twin Cam technology. That’s why this engine was frequently used. The power unit has been upgraded to a volume of 2.0 liters particularly for the Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 Veloce. The addition “Veloce” is also justified thanks to an exciting performance. The Spider 2000 squeezes 128 hp out of the "bialbero" engine with double overhead camshafts or “twin-shaft” technique. The power is sent to the rear wheels via 5 manual gears for the ultimate Alfa experience. Made in Italy, Dutch driven.
