History
This specific 1st generation Alfa Spider Veloce (not counting the Duetto) has been put on the road almost 10 years after the introduction of the “Coda Tronca”. It took until 1983 before Alfa Romeo presented successor "Aerodinamica". And that car wasn’t drastically different either, which says a lot about the timeless appearance of the original model. Our Spider got Dutch in 1990. Don’t get us wrong: we’d like to keep this beauty for a much longer time here in Holland, but the most important thing is that the bella macchina gets the attention it deserves. Exterior
Not many things are as characteristic as the design of the original Alfa Romeo Spider. The sleek shape is packed with classy elements, including round headlights behind drop-shaped covers, a slim waistline, big boot and straight-cut rear-end. As elegant as the Spider Veloce is, the sportiness is unadulterated thanks to a distinctive Rosso Alfa lacquer. Is the exterior in immaculate condition? No, the paint certainly shows some imperfections here and there due to driving in high humidity. However, our Italian beauty is pretty enough to get people’s thumbs up after spotting you on sunny days. Next to the bright red bodywork there’s a black soft-top and classy wire wheels; all the ingredients for maximum approval plus lots of sympathy while driving.

Interior
Inside the Alfa 2000 Spider Veloce many details indicate a pure drivers’ car as well: black leather, a wooden steering wheel, analogue gauges and meters in double round tubes; that classic Alfa feeling knows how to touch us over and over again! The no-nonsense dashboard is neat, the gear lever is always within reach (because of its high position) and the logos on the gear knob + chrome-plated ashtray are 100% Alfa Romeo. So what are you waiting for?

Technique
The typical position of the exhaust at the back says something about the famous sound of the 4-cylinder TwinCam engine. Since the open 2-seater is named "2000", we don’t have to speculate about its capacity. The 128 PS and double overhead camshaft technology made Alfa Romeo decide to give their Spider a "Veloce" label. Indeed, the classic roadster has no trouble sending all its powerful charms right to the rear wheels. The 5-speed manual gearbox emphasizes the fact: you’ve got all to play for.
