Wanneer was de laatste keer dat u een grote glimlach op uw gezicht kreeg van een ‘groene’ auto? De ‘duurzame’ techniek is letterlijk in een stroomversnelling geraakt. When was the last time a "green" car put a big smile on your face? While "sustainable" technology is advancing rapidly, making driving less thrilling, some things remain timeless—like the beauty of this Verde Medio Alfa Romeo Montreal. It never gets old! This particular example makes an especially powerful impression, as this Alfa Classic has recently been fully restored down to the very last screw. The overall condition is nothing short of stunning. And there’s no shortage of history either: the accompanying documentation provides a detailed overview of the work carried out on the Montreal, complete with invoices to verify it all. Also included is an Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin, confirming that the gorgeous Verde Medio paint and Avana Beige interior are 100% matching. They simply don’t make them like this anymore!
History
Our Montreal hails from a Belgian collection of Alfa classics. It’s worth noting that the previous owner ensured this collectible never sat idle, maintaining it in perfect technical condition—a fact that significantly benefits its state today. The meticulous restoration has further contributed to the Montreal’s exceptional condition. Only true craftsmen were involved in the process, each specializing in a specific area: from bodywork to wheels, spoilers to trim, and seats to exhaust systems. Nothing was left to chance, and everything was rebuilt from bare metal to its former glory. As a result, the masterpiece by Bertone, penned by the legendary Marcello Gandini, remains as striking as ever. Its matching numbers and colors make this originally Belgian-delivered Italian gem more desirable than ever. To further tempt you, it comes with an Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin and a detailed history file.
Exterior
The Montreal is one of the most iconic Alfa Romeos ever made. And why wouldn’t it be, with a designer who created eccentric masterpieces like the Maserati Khamsin, Lamborghini Countach, and Lancia Stratos? The Montreal’s unmistakable design features include its bold front end with dual round headlights partially concealed behind a set of "louvers" integrated into the Verde Medio (code AR223) bodywork. The large chrome surround and the deep, freshly matte-black painted lower spoiler enhance the car’s distinctive look. Other eye-catching details include the air duct on the hood with its black inlay, the wide C-pillars with six cooling slots per side, and the downward-curving dual exhaust at the rear, which has also been renewed. Like the green paint, the restored and repainted multi-spoke wheels are entirely original. This kind of timeless beauty truly lasts forever.
Interior
If a Montreal in vibrant green isn’t exclusive enough for you, the like-new Avana Beige interior is sure to please. This combination makes the classic Alfa even rarer and even more intriguing for your collection! Seats, carpeting, mats, dashboard, door panels, and headliner have all been completely renewed. The instruments and controls match the immaculate state and authenticity of the rest of the stunning interior. Naturally, everything functions as it should. From the wonderfully supportive, re-padded seats, you’ll admire the characteristic wooden three-spoke steering wheel, behind which sit two typical Alfa "humps" displaying speed and RPM on analog gauges. Nostalgia abounds—and it only gets better.
Engineering & Performance
When you feel the excitement building inside, it’s time to awaken the magical V8. The 2.6-liter 8-cylinder engine with Spica fuel injection officially delivers 200 hp. But thanks to the thorough engine restoration—leaving no bolt untouched—the Montreal seems to have gained even more power. Its promised top speed of 220 km/h and 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.1 seconds are easily achievable on its original rubber tires. Paired with a delightful 5-speed manual transmission and a well-tuned yet relatively comfortable suspension, the Alfa Romeo Montreal remains perfectly usable as a grand tourer in 2024. While it wouldn’t look out of place in a museum, it’s far better enjoyed on the road—don’t you think?
Kind regards,
