Prologue

Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Rosso Alfa

Cars designed for enthusiasts are at their best when they are lovingly maintained… and used. The latter is often missing in the case of classics like the Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. We get it: the most beautiful masterpieces are usually kept safe and secure. However, the stunning Bertone creation on your screen was regularly taken out for a drive. Its previous owner, a Belgian Alfa enthusiast with an exquisite car collection, treated each of his bella macchina like a gem in perfect condition—by enjoying regular tours in them. After all, that’s exactly what an Alfa GTV is meant for! We’ve given this piece of art, now sitting on iconic GTA wheels, a fitting makeover, in case you can’t stop looking at it… Does Rosso Alfa blood run where it’s not supposed to? If you ever spot this GTV 2000 on the road, consider yourself lucky—let alone if the four-leaf clover of Alfa classics ends up in your possession!

History
The Bertone design studio enlisted the help of renowned Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro to shape the lines of the Alfa Romeo 105/115 Coupé. This was Giugiaro’s first major project, but far from his last. There was no better way for him to make his mark! The GT and later GT Veloce practically defined the concept of character. Over the years, the model has become synonymous with Alfa’s sporty history—a legacy the Belgian owner preserved perfectly, never sparing on maintenance or driving pleasure. A passionate Alfa collector, he frequently took his classic toys out for a spin. And why not? A master like Leonardo da Vinci wouldn’t want his Mona Lisa gathering dust in secret either. The later series of the Alfa Romeo GT Veloce was simply named GTV, with the 2000 version as its crowning achievement. Today, it remains one of the most sought-after classic Alfas. One look at this breathtaking Rosso example, and you’ll instantly remember why.

Exterior
Creating a car that is both flamboyant and bold is no small feat. Yet, Giugiaro, under Bertone’s name, managed to sketch a unique body: clean lines, sharp angles, a compact silhouette, and plenty of Italian flair characterize the iconic design of the Alfa Romeo GT(V). With the Visconti snake emblem on the C-pillars and a Quadrifoglio Verde badge on the fuel cap, there’s no doubt this Romeo is closely tied to Italy’s (racing) history. We’ve given the Gran Turismo Veloce an appropriate upgrade with some GTA design influences. Special wheels and bumpers—noticeable by their absence—let the classic Alfa heart race at full throttle, while the fiery Rosso Alfa paintwork sends adrenaline rushing to the right foot. The dual round headlights on each side and the chrome grille with its many slats reveal that this is an authentic 2000 GTV. Anything less simply wouldn’t do.

Interior
Step into the analog world of Alfa Romeo and immediately catch the vintage Gran Turismo (Veloce) fever. Connoisseurs will be captivated by the Nero leather seats, the authentic toggle switches, the abundant wood accents, the characteristic round gauges, and of course, the enormous steering wheel with its three aluminum spokes. The black headliner, chrome ashtray, and matching window cranks transport you back in time—to the golden age of the Alfa 2000 GTV. The cockpit is completely intact, and its overall condition is outstanding. No wonder its previous owner enjoyed taking this masterpiece out so often.

Engineering & Performance
When we say GTV 2000, we mean a Gran Turismo with extra “Veloce” and an engine displacement of just under 2.0 liters—1,962 cc to be exact. The upgrade to the inline 4-cylinder engine increased its output to 132 hp, more than enough to let this rear-wheel-drive sports coupé slide playfully out of corners. Tackling winding stretches of asphalt is an unforgettable experience behind the wheel of our Alfa GTV 2000. With the distinctive Twin Cam burble emerging from its uniquely angled exhaust, dilated pupils and tingling fingertips are guaranteed the moment the right pedal hits the floor. Which enthusiast will make this dream their reality?
