Read moreThis delightful Italian comes with plenty of Dutch accents! The Alfa GT 1600 Junior you see here was originally delivered in the Netherlands, recently enhanced in our own Atelier with a highly desirable GTA look, and finished in the incredibly tasteful Blu Olandese body color. The GTV-style interior is equally stunning. In short, a one-of-a-kind combination in a one-of-a-kind car! Perfect for reliving the golden days of Alfa Romeo. You won’t find more character in this classic segment. Who will take the honor?
History
Parking such a beauty on the street 365 days a year would break any enthusiast’s heart. That’s why this Alfa Romeo GT Junior was traded in with us—its previous owner lacked the space to keep it indoors after moving. A modern Alfa became the preferred choice, which left us richer by one classic. This 1600 was originally delivered in the Netherlands in 1975 and has been well maintained ever since. Yet, at Prins we saw room for improvement: in our Atelier, the GT underwent a true GTA transformation, complete with engine sump guard, sport exhaust, GTA wheels, and no bumpers.
Exterior
The extensive modifications have certainly enhanced its striking looks. But even without them, this model is a work of art. Bertone was the mastermind behind this style icon, creating a legendary coupe. Sleek bodywork, elegant lines, and compact proportions make the iconic Alfa Romeo GT a highly coveted design object. Full of flair. Full of character. Full of emozione. The Blu Olandese paint adds a sophisticated touch to this bold presence, giving it undeniable prestige. It’s the perfect companion for any occasion—after all, who could fail to appreciate a classic like this?
Interior
Beautiful outside, beautiful inside: the beige leather cockpit of the Alfa GT 1600 Junior is indistinguishable from a GTV. In line with later series, the interior mirrors that of the top-of-the-line Gran Turismo Veloce 2000—but in this case, it was modified afterward. Sportiness is central, paired with a tasteful color combination. Behind the enormous 3-spoke wooden steering wheel, two large dials beckon you to let the needles climb in the analog gauges. Those who operate the manual gearbox with the same finesse as they admire our GT Bertone will be treated to a driving experience unlike any other. Are you ready?
Mechanics
The introduction of the 1600 Junior in 1972 filled the gap between the 1300 and 2000 models. The 4-cylinder Twin Cam engine from the 1300 was bored out to 1570 cc. In our configuration, this powerplant delivers 126 lively horses to the rear axle. With a curb weight of just 1,000 kg, that’s more than enough to make the rear end waggle with joy on a spirited drive. But you don’t even need to push it that far to realize this is the lucky four-leaf clover of Alfa classics.
Kind regards,
Team Prins
