The legendary Alfa Romeo GT Junior was available in multiple versions after its introduction in 1965, but a 2000 version was never officially produced—only the GTV came with that engine. So how did our Alfa GT 2000 Junior get its name? The answer is as simple as the transformation is detailed: this unique Gran Turismo Junior has been meticulously converted to a 2.0-liter version. It features a high-performance camshaft, an improved gearbox, a limited-slip differential, adjustable Gaz shock absorbers with camber plates, and much more, thanks to the professional expertise of La Forgia Classico. Thanks to these specialists, the Junior is in outstanding technical condition. The car has also received perfect annual maintenance, including an extensive service in 2024 that replaced the brake discs. And this has been the case for at least 30 years, as the previous owner cherished his Italian pride and joy for that long. The elegant blue paintwork was redone 10 years ago. And that bold GTA look? That came from Prins!
History
The Alfa Romeo GT originates from the 105 and 115 series coupés, succeeding the more rounded Giulietta Sprint in 1963. It was based on the four-door Giulia sports sedan but built on a shortened platform. Our Junior is based on the 1300 version introduced in 1965. However, the more powerful 2000 GTV from 1971 served as the main inspiration for the thorough transformation of this Alfa classic. La Forgia Classico handled the conversion to a 2.0-liter version with meticulous attention to detail. The recently added GTA look further emphasizes the pure character of this iconic two-door. The Alfa Romeo GT Junior is a true driver’s car, and for the past 30 years, it was used as exactly that—by the same owner. A rare find! Over the years, the 2000 Junior has traveled to many special places, including the North Cape. Thanks to impeccable annual maintenance and dedicated care, its overall condition remains fantastic even after more than half a century of loyal service.
Exterior
When we say GT Junior, we say Bertone. The famous Italian design maestro made a name for himself with the introduction of this sharply styled beauty. The car was radically different from its charming and softer-shaped predecessor, marking the start of a new Alfa era—one filled with racing and rally successes. That’s why the uncompromising GTA configuration fits so perfectly. Matching wheels and the absence of chrome bumpers give the Alfa Romeo GT 2000 Junior an exhilarating, no-nonsense look, as if it just rolled off a vintage rally stage. The thick, diagonally positioned exhaust not only looks bold—it sounds the part, too! But our Gran Turismo Veloce is more than just a characterful masterpiece with a deep growl. The ultra-stylish paintwork, redone 10 years ago, is a showcase of classic elegance. The deep blue hue couldn’t offer more contrast, making the entire package all the more desirable.
Interior
Speaking of desirability: the designers didn’t stop at the exterior of the Alfa GT 2000 Junior. The interior is an Italian masterpiece in itself, featuring two-tone brown/beige leather upholstery, Veglia Borletti instruments, and a stunning Mota-Lita steering wheel as standout highlights. The cockpit practically exudes class. A flawless interior isn’t necessary to maintain its charm—the leather showcases a light patina, evidence of years of enjoyment behind the wheel. And we hope the next owner experiences just as much joy!
Engineering
The 4-cylinder Twin Cam engine leaves nothing to be desired—it is simply perfect. For this special transformation, the original 1300 engine was replaced with the more powerful 2000cc variant from the GTV. But it didn’t stop there: the high-performance camshaft, fine-tuned transmission, adjustable Gaz shock absorbers, camber plates, and limited-slip differential were all implemented or optimized according to the Alfa GTV 2000 recipe. This makes the car even more of a pure driver’s machine than the GT was in its original form. Additionally, during the last major service in 2024, all brake discs were replaced.
