Prologue

Reviews

There is a reason why Italian classics hold an exceptional appeal for enthusiasts of beauty, style, and sportiness. The GT Junior 1300 by Bertone is a kind of "wonder boy" or blueprint for Alfa Romeo when it comes to image and identity. With this stunning coupé, the Italians have left their mark on the world of agile sports cars and GTs. In fact, the iconic 2-door is the face of Alfa classics. This particular example has it all: its outstanding, unrestored (!) condition, documented history, and, of course, its color scheme and looks. Who will have the privilege of driving a classic Alfa as green as a four-leaf clover?

History
After being crafted in the land of great masters, it was on Swiss roads where the Alfa GT Junior 1300 first shone. It was delivered new in Switzerland in 1967 and perfectly maintained there. It had to be, given its exceptionally beautiful condition… The previous owner also appreciated the pure character of the Bertone; over the past 12 years, he kept the classic as original as possible. Absolutely unique is the fact that the Alfa remains unrestored after all these years while being in truly stunning condition. It even took a Maserati to persuade its former owner to trade in the GT Junior at Prins. That says it all… The popularity of the 1300 Junior was immense in its early years. The same goes for the entire 105/115 Series Coupés from Alfa Romeo. But to put the success of the 1300 specifically into perspective: its sales figures were double those of the next most sought-after GT(V). And the love for this legend shows no signs of fading…

Exterior
At the bottom of the front fenders, the name and badge of Bertone proudly stand out: another legend in the automotive industry. However, it was renowned top designer Giorgetto Giugiaro who sketched the distinctive coupé while working for Bertone’s design studio. Since then, his name has been inextricably linked to some of the most beautiful creations in automotive history. And perhaps this Alfa Romeo GT Junior is his best ever. Finished in an elegant Verde body color, the timeless charm of this stylish yet sporty 2-door is perfectly showcased. The overall condition is sublime, and its allure seems almost out of this world. Especially when you consider that the bodywork has never been restored! From the chrome details to the highly coveted GTA wheels: this Gran Turismo is flawless! Furthermore, the wheels perfectly reveal the sporty DNA of this distinctive coupé. The robust front, round headlights, and gently sloping flanks make it iconic and oh-so-beautiful. All in all, this configuration and condition make it a rare find for connoisseurs and collectors alike!

Interior
The cockpit configuration will undoubtedly please any enthusiast: light brown leather seats combined with a dark brown dashboard and plenty of wood. This isn’t just a beauty; it’s a gem! The period-correct radio, classic toggle switches, and wooden steering wheel with three perforated aluminum spokes evoke an unparalleled sense of nostalgia aboard the Alfa GT Junior Bertone. It’s something you simply must experience for yourself, we’d almost say…

Mechanics & Performance
With the “1300” designation, Alfa Romeo has never hidden the engine displacement of the Twin Cam 4-cylinder powering the GT Junior. Coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox, all 90 horses are delivered to the rear axle, equating to driving pleasure squared. The Bertone is wonderfully pure, and the same goes for the entire drivetrain. More power is welcome but not necessary to experience heaps of joy with ease in this ultimate Alfa classic. And that’s precisely why, after reading this ad, you’ll be planning a visit to Prins. We look forward to welcoming you!

Kind regards,
Team Prins
