This magnificent example—finished in a fiery exterior color with an exceptionally chic interior—was originally delivered new in Italy and sold by us in 2017 to a loyal Prins client. Needless to say, it was a true pleasure to welcome this Gran Turismo Veloce back into our collection…

History

Design legend Giorgetto Giugiaro was a natural talent from the very start. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Coupé, on which the 2000 GTV is based, was in fact his first major project. Commissioned by Bertone—the design house forever tied to the car’s nickname “Alfa GTV Bertone”—Giugiaro helped create one of the most iconic cars of its era. Unique, particularly in its accessible class. The GT Veloce (or GTV) was the most desirable of the series, and the 2000 version sits at the top of the range. Leaving aside the ultra-rare GTA, this is considered the pinnacle of the classic Alfa coupés.

Exterior

Dipped in a breathtaking Rosso Alfa finish and preserved in excellent condition, this particular example is simply irresistible to enthusiasts. The GTV is easily recognized by its dual round headlights on each side. On the 2000 model, these are connected by a grille of eight chrome slats, visually extending to the proud Scudetto at the center. Additional chrome details come in the form of classic bumpers, door handles, and of course, the single round driver’s side mirror. Its elegant silhouette—with the sharp nose, large side windows, and gracefully sloping rear—are hallmarks of the 105/115 series. What a beauty!

Interior

A vivid red exterior paired with a beige interior: the dream specification for virtually every Alfista with a love for the brand’s heritage. Even modern enthusiasts will fall for this timelessly sporty yet stylish combination. The large wooden three-spoke steering wheel, matching dashboard inlays, center console, and gear knob serve as the ultimate finishing touches. Two prominent pods house the analog tachometer (left) and speedometer (right), gazing at the driver, urging the needles to come alive. Fuel tank topped up, engine temperature steady? Then it’s time to let this Alfa sing!

Engineering

The “Veloce” name is well deserved: under the bonnet lies Alfa’s legendary 2.0-liter Twin Cam four-cylinder, producing 132 hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox—an ideal recipe for a truly sporting driving experience. The soundtrack is just as iconic: raw, addictive, and deeply nostalgic. Exactly the kind of character that will make the next enthusiast fall in love the moment they take the wheel of this glorious Alfa “in Rosso.”
