Bij Prins treft u nu dé klassieker der Alfa Romeo 75 klassiekers: een schitterend originele 3.0 V6 America, Nederlands geleverd en van de 2e eigenaar! Een absoluut unieke, pure auto met een wel heel bijzondere historie. Het kostte de laatste eigenaar dan ook 13 jaar om los te komen van deze fraaie Alfa 75 klassieker. Zijn voorganger maakte het zowaar nóg bonter: hij kon 23 jaar lang geen afscheid nemen van de Italiaan. Als liefhebber snappen we dit natuurlijk als geen ander… Gelukkig bleef de uitrusting al die tijd onaangeroerd; slechts de Koni schokdempers werden achteraf toegevoegd, maar de originele exemplaren zijn ook bewaard gebleven. Clean, pure, fully original and absolutely unique: this classic Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 V6 America is Dutch delivered and has had only 2 (!) owners in the past 36 years. It took the last owner 13 years to let this precious Alfa 75 go. The long-term relationship with the first owner was even longer: he couldn’t say goodbye to the Italian masterpiece for about 23 years. As a genuine fan, we can fully understand why. Speaking of which: the condition remained completely original all these years. Only the Koni shock absorbers were added afterwards, but the originals have also been preserved. You’re either a fan or you’re not…

History
The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 V6 America is an upgraded 2.5 version with American exterior details. With 188 hp, only the QV was slightly more powerful than the America, meaning that the car succeeded in its mission to increase the gap to the 4-cylinder engines. Owner 1 was quite devoted to his Alfa 75 3.0 V6, looking at the (very) long-term ownership. His successor was at least as much in love, but got luxury problems: the large car collection literally got in his way. One classic had to go. And so the 1987 Italian gem left the building… It’s the Alfisti’s lucky day! What makes this specific car even more desirable is its completely original condition. We’re quite sure that the last owner is reading our advertisement so we cannot emphasize enough that the Romeo among the Americas is only intended for genuine Alfa fans. Giving the classic a comfortable new home were it will be loved and handled with passion, is the least we can do!

Exterior
Apart from the reflectors on the sides of the bumpers, which are mandatory in America, the Alfa Romeo 75 America is 100% the same model that was sold on the North American market at the time. This means that the exhaust is on the right instead of in the middle, the bumpers are shock-absorbing (seen by the ridges in the black parts) and a tiny boot lid spoiler is mounted on the back of the sports sedan. Traditionally, the wheel arches are painted in body color. In this case they are gray, matching the timeless character of this beautiful and iconic wedgy-shaped, angular 4-door Berlina.

Interior
The sleek design and condition are continued in style on the inside. There’s a no-nonsense concept behind Alfa Romeo’s 75 America doors. And even more importantly: once again everything is completely intact. There’s no trace of negligence in the Alfa cockpit. Seat upholstery, dashboard, switches, steering wheel and gear lever; all details are as they should be. PS We hope you saved a few cassette tapes at home, because this America is set to play them!

Technique & performance
The fuel engine is in danger for some time now. Smooth machines like the 3.0 liter V6 were skipped a lot longer ago in the mid-size range. So yes, we feel privileged to have this type of Alfa Romeo: with 188 hp, the America is barely inferior to the Quadrifoglio Verde. As a result, the performance is close too: accelerating from 0-100 km/h can be achieved within 7.8 seconds. The top speed of 220 km/h is just as impressive. Not many electric cars who can achieve that… To complete the comparison: the characteristic 6-cylinder sound makes the Alfa heart beat fast like old times. This is how driving pleasure is meant to be! Who will be owner number 3 in 36 years of Italian/Dutch history?
